Carrie Fitzsimmons

Carrie Fitzsimmons is the Executive Director of ArtScience Labs, an international network of creativity and innovation labs founded by Harvard Professor David Edwards that catalyzes idea translation in art and design experiments at the frontiers of science, and the founding Director of the ArtScience Prize.
Carrie brings more than a decade of cultural organization and nonprofit management experience to the ArtScience Labs network, where she oversees all activities related to the ArtScience Prize, and leads international strategy particularly as it relates to ArtScience Lab partners internationally.
She attended the Getty Museum Leadership Institute in 2008 while she was Chief of Staff at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. She is a connector for Boston World Partnerships; a Fellow for the Royal Society of Arts; a founding board member of the National Creativity Network; on the National Advisory Council for The Art of Science Learning; and advisory board member for Massachusetts College of Arts Artward Bound program. Carrie travels globally to speak on behalf of the ArtScience Prize while strategically growing and managing the international programs that comprise the ArtScience Labs.

Andrea Sachdeva

With more than 10 years’ experience working in a variety of arts education and out-of-school time settings in the US and abroad, Andrea Sachdeva currently serves as International Director of Education for the ArtScience Prize, an art and design competition with a scientific theme that helps young people to discover a passion for learning and develop socially-relevant and innovative ideas. She also co-leads scaling-up of the ArtScience Prize program in sites around the world, including cities across the United States and in Asia, Europe, and Africa. In 2009-2010, Andrea provided research support and authored a published research report for the 20UNDER40 Project, a collection of essays demonstrating innovative perspectives on the future of the arts and arts education. Andrea is a founding co-chair of the Continuing the Conversation series of regional and national arts education events hosted by the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Arts in Education Program, where she has previously served as a Teaching Fellow with Professor Steve Seidel. Additionally, Andrea has served as a freelance program evaluator for arts education programs in the Boston area. She holds a BM from Boston University’s School of Music (’04) with a major in Flute Performance and Musicology and an EdM in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (’07).
