The research group recently kicked off the manufacture of the GreenWheel electric bicycle and has secured a partner to industrialize the CityCar project. Ryan will present the latest developments on these projects along with the group's Mobility-on-Demand concept. He also will briefly highlight the key areas covered in Professor William J. Mitchell's latest book, Reinventing the Automobile: Personal Urban Mobility for the 21st Century (MIT Press).
Recap
2009 TEDxBoston speaker Ryan Chin started a new tradition by updating us on his work with the Smart Cities Group at MIT Media Lab. Participants enjoyed an exclusive look at how Ryan’s team is “push[ing] urban travel forward” with more efficient cars, bicycles, and scooters. One guest was especially impressed with this “great tour” and inspired by these new vehicles that “can be operated entirely electronically, or even remotely.”
